Design
Reflectors version: The PD and PR series is positioned as Olamled’s high-end offering. It features a sophisticated design that includes lenses and reflector cups, which not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also significantly reduce glare. These two series combine functionality with modern, stylish looks.
Diffuser plate version: In contrast, the PF and PR-2 series uses a PC (polycarbonate) diffuser to spread light. This design is simpler and more functional, aiming at efficiently distributing light across a space.
Glare Rating
Reflectors version: Due to its advanced optical design involving lenses and reflector cups, the PD & PR series achieves a lower Unified Glare Rating (UGR<16). This makes it ideal for environments where reducing visual discomfort is a priority, such as offices or educational facilities.
Diffuser plate version: These 2 series are with its PC diffuser, UGR>22 or UGR<19 for option. While it still offers effective lighting, the focus is more on broad light distribution rather than minimizing glare.

LED linear lights are specified in six application types: open-plan offices, meeting rooms, classrooms, libraries, retail aisles and warehouse office blocks. Each type carries its own maintained illuminance and glare requirement under EN 12464-1.

What installation options does an LED linear light support?
An OLAMLED linear light mounts three ways: surface-mounted on a concrete or finished ceiling, suspended on adjustable steel cables, or recessed flush into a drywall or panel ceiling. Every order ships with the matching mounting kit and pre-wired quick connectors.
Can LED linear lights be connected into a continuous run?
Yes, all four series — PD, PR, PF and PR-2 — can be connected end to end with a pre-wired quick connector. A single 230 V circuit carries a continuous run of up to 30 m (98 ft) at 30 W per meter, limited by the 16 A breaker rather than by the fixture. Longer runs are split with a feed-in joint, supplied on request.
How many lumens does a 4 ft LED linear light produce?
A 1200 mm (4 ft) LED linear light produces 2400 to 4800 lumens, depending on whether it is specified at 20 W, 30 W or 40 W. At 120 to 150 lm/W, a 40 W fixture delivers roughly 4800 lumens at 4000 K.
What UGR does an office LED linear light need?
An office LED linear light needs a Unified Glare Rating of 19 or below, the limit EN 12464-1 sets for workstation lighting. Screen-intensive rooms such as CAD and control rooms are usually specified at UGR<16, which the PD and PR series deliver.
Can an LED linear light be dimmed with a standard TRIAC wall dimmer?
No. OLAMLED linear drivers accept 1-10V, DALI-2 and D4i control signals, not phase-cut TRIAC dimming. A TRIAC dimmer causes visible flicker and shortens driver life on these fixtures, so specify a 1-10V or DALI-2 driver at order instead.
What is the difference between DALI-2 and D4i dimming?
D4i extends DALI-2. Both control dimming over the same two-wire bus, but a D4i driver also stores energy consumption, operating hours and fault diagnostics inside the luminaire, which a building management system reads without extra metering hardware.
Are LED linear lights flicker-free?
Yes. OLAMLED linear fixtures measure Pst LM ≤ 1.0 and SVM ≤ 0.4, the flicker limits the 2024 ErP regulation sets for indoor lighting. Values below these thresholds are not perceived by the human eye at normal viewing distances.
What IP rating does an LED linear light need for an office corridor?
An office corridor needs IP20, the rating for dry indoor spaces. IP40 is specified where a semi-open ceiling exposes the fixture to dust, and IP65 is required only in kitchens, car parks and washdown areas.
What is the difference between an LED linear light and an LED batten light?
An LED linear light uses an extruded aluminum profile with a lens, reflector or
diffuser optic and links into a continuous run. An LED batten light uses a molded PC body, carries no linking hardware, and targets utility spaces rather than specified office lighting.
